CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)  | Expression of Interest​

Invitation for expression of Interest: Psychosocial Support Services

The Road Accident Fund is a State-owned entity that reports to the National Department of Transport. The RAF is responsible for providing appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa, rehabilitating and compensating persons injured because of motor vehicle accident in a timely

and caring manner and actively promoting the safe use of all South African roads.

Beyond monetary compensation, RAF acknowledges the significant psychosocial effects of road accidents on the victims and their immediate families.

The RAF invites eligible Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Non-Profit Companies (NPCs) and Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs) to submit an Expression of Interest for the provision of comprehensive psychosocial support services in accordance with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate.

The intended beneficiaries:

  • Road accident victims
  • Immediate family members of road accident victims
  • Caregivers of road accident victims

The RAF aims to offer families affected by road accidents easily accessible and professional psychosocial support services. The programme's main objectives are to increase resilience, support psychological recovery, and help families deal with stress, trauma, and/or bereavement.

Scope of work:

  • Telephonic counselling services
  • Face-to-face and/or Virtual Counselling.
  • Capacity Building and Debriefing (for caregivers).
  • Community Based Reintegration
  • Account management and reporting
      Geographic Focus:
       

      The programme will be implemented in all provinces within South Africa, with a special focus on provinces with high accident statistics such as Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Limpopo.

      Eligibility Criteria:
       
      • Appropriate Non-Profit registration with the Department of Social Development, Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, and /or South African Revenue Services.
      • National footprint.
      • Ability to offer services in all 11 official languages.
      • Access to a network of health professionals. 
      • At least three years of operational experience in relevant sectors.
      Expression of Interest Submission Requirements:
       
      • Organisation profile and relevant experience.
      • Composition and qualifications of the project team including CVs.
      • Minimum of two references from similar projects conducted.
